While The Bridge offers highly experiential learning opportunities, we also provide opportunities to study abroad with us, either earning college credits or finishing high school with us.
Veritas University (member of the LCI Education Network) this university has always been our students’ favorite. Fully accredited and partnered up with numerous universities across the globe, receiving close to a thousand study abroad students every year, with dozens of classes to choose from, amazing field trips and cutting-edge teaching approaches, it makes sense that our students prefer it to other colleges that teach courses in English here in Costa Rica. We have strengthened our partnership with Veritas to provide easier admission process, direct collaboration with our academic coordination for personalized academic support, as well as the possibility of earning college credit for internships. College Applications Coming to The Bridge is a wonderful choice when considering boosting up a college application. We offer college counseling, support the students throughout the entire process, and the vast majority of the time get incredible results and a lot of scholarship offers. See our college acceptances page. Transferable College Courses Students interested in beginning or continuing with their college education can take university classes while at The Bridge. We are connected with Universidad Veritas, Texas Tech, and other emerging opportunities with universities like Arizona State University, all of which offer dozens of courses taught in English, fully transferable to US universities. High School Diploma Young adults who need a few credits in order to complete their high school diploma can attend New Summit Academy to receive a high quality, Multiple Intelligences-infused, Project Based Learning - driven education. All completed credits are accredited by Cognia in the USA. Independent Study Students who have already completed high school and are not interested in college classes at the local universities, can also opt to continue their education with an independent study. At The Bridge, we have a full time teacher who helps students find suitable options that go well with their internships, interests and goals. Many times these courses can also transfer for college credit or provide certifications that greatly enhance their resume. Some examples of independent studies are:
Wilderness Advanced First Aid Certification Course Once a year (pandemic permitting), The Bridge offers a five-day 40-hour certification course on Wilderness Advanced First Aid. This course is taught by instructors brought from the USA by the Wilderness Medicine Institute. This is a highly experiential, engaging and challenging course, which gives students confidence in first aid skills and looks great on job and college applications. |
