What Does it mean to "graduate" the Bridge?

After participating fully in the Bridge and completing a 6 month commitment, each participant should have...
  • Participated in an internship for 3+ months and received a positive evaluation by his internship mentor.
  • Completed an educational goal (of his choice). Typically we look at a university course, online course, or an 80 hour course or its equivalent.
  • 150 hours of community service, which are earned easily just by being here and participating in program service activities.
  • Completion of the goals developed in his Master Goal Plan. We encourage students to make these as concrete as possible, but this ends up being a more subjective area (based on individualized goals and needs), even though it’s an essential one.
  • Successful completion of a leadership role in the Aventura community projects.
  • A graduation “seed project”, which is a project of the student’s choice on how and to who he wants to give something back before he leaves.
  • Reaching the third phase of the program, which mainly entails progressing gradually in the completion of the above items.
  • Compiled a compelling resume based on all of the above activities and accomplishments!
