For our most recent Aventura, we traveled to live among the Bribri, a group indigenous to the Talamanca area of Costa Rica. Many Bribri people live below the poverty line, somewhere between modern western society and their traditional ways of life. Many of the younger Bribri prefer to identify with modern Costa Rican culture. One of our goals was to help inspire the youth to reidentify with their roots.
Along with several students from the local school, we traveled to San Jose to participate in the Feria Verde. We sold goods such as chocolate made by families in Sepecue, local medicinal plants, plantains, bananas, and t-shirts that read “We are Bribri”. We also attended another fair several days later to sell more of the goods. The money we raised will benefit the school.
Several of the students are planning to live in Oregon for two months to improve their English and learn about American culture. Currently, we are raising the funds to help make this trip possible. If you haven't already donated, any donations towards our goal of $2,000.00 would be greatly appreciated. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/amigos-de-oregon/#/

Dreaming big and making dreams happen... together.
Hello S2S community!
We returned last Friday from an incredible Aventura. We followed it up with hosting 5 bribri students for a few days at the bridge house and participating in the Feria Verde (organic farmer’s market in San Jose) to help them sell their goods to raise money to send students to the USA.
It’s all been a huge success--from bringing everyone back healthy and with positive frames of mind, to doing great with the sales at the market, to connecting with people from a unique and amazing culture, and more than anything empowering each other to organize an ambitious project and succeeding together.
The bribri students stayed with us through last Wednesday, and we really hope you can help us help them enjoy the same kind of life-changing cultural exchanges that they have provided our S2S Bridge community. Please donate at the link above. Sa Dor BriBri Wak!!
Thank you!
